Before we get started..
Disclaimer: Do not expect humour here.
I know I’m massively late on writing about something like this but I had to make sure that it was fully mainstream before I tackled it.
Let me give you guys a quick overview of what exactly this is.
Macmillan’s new campaign has truly gone viral with celebrities getting involved as well as your average Jack. The challenge is simple really. One person gets a bucket of ice-cold water poured onto them in exchange for a donation to charity and another records them and uploads the video to the net. Continue reading
First of all, let me enlighten you to the fact that I’ve only ever used this function like once or twice… all of which were poke-backs.
Also, it has been a loooong time since I’ve written an article in the “My Thoughts On” series. But anyway… on to the Poking!
NEVER have I encountered such a useless function on any social networking website.
I mean, what the hell does it even do? Is it supposed to emulate a real-life poke? Because believe you me, it doesn’t resemble that in the slightest. Continue reading
This article has been chosen by readers (via the poll in this blog http://wp.me/p3jOHU-eU) to be written next. Well, sort of anyway ;-)
We live in a world where people poke one another, write on each other’s walls, like every single thing they do, follow one another, repeat(retweet) what people say and even add them to circles. All virtually of course…otherwise that’d be a bit…weird, to say the least.
A major cause of conflict in this world is down to many factors but the one I’m going to give my thoughts on in this article is; The issue of people’s egos.
It’s not anything new and indeed it may sound cliche…but it’s something we can’t physically visualize and so is often overlooked…

So….”The Next Big Thing” is Google Glass eh?
This is great news for Tech nerds like myself, it’s almost as if we are finally living in the ‘future’ that we dreamed about as kids…This is a product that differs from anything else currently on the market so props to Google for being innovative.
I like the concept of this, it brings about a major change in the way we live our lives, some may even consider it revolutionary. Indeed it is.
It may have very cool features, all fancy tech built in and so forth, but is it really something that was needed?
There are many different forms of media around us…chances are, you have probably clicked this article through a form of social media too.
However, what I shall focus on in this article is the issue of media itself and it’s impact on the general public. It’s not the positives and negatives, just my insight…
I’m presuming that The EssWhyDee Blog has an older demographic – If you are under the age of 20, please navigate away from this page now. Oh shit. That doesn’t include myself by the way. Otherwise I wouldn’t be able to write the rest of this blog post and whatnot.
Only kidding, you’re all welcome to read it.
The Human Brain
As confusing as the heading is, i’m sure you’ve gathered by now, that my blog is starting to form a structure. Naturally, i’m trying to post as frequently as possible, blogging my thoughts on topics, blogging my past experiences, general rants, And i’m even releasing an ebook this Friday, as a creative exercise for myself, all alongside fitting in my day to day busy lifestyle…(not)
Now, this structure I mentioned, comes in the form of my new categories.. These are helping me arrange my blog posts into different sections. But a particular category I have thoroughly enjoyed writing in so far, is the ‘My Thoughts on Certain Topics’ category(which you can access from the left hand side of my website, under the Calendar).
So… Here are my thoughts, on ‘My Thoughts’…….
Lets get right to this, I am going to run you guys through each of the matches VERY briefly to let you know what i thought of “The Granddaddy of them all”.
The more serious topic of euthanasia eh?…where do we start….
It’s a touchy topic, but here’s my two pence(or Cents)
Note: i’m trying my best NOT to make this into an essay style article
- Euthanasia, also called “mercy killing” is the painless killing of a patient suffering from an incurable and painful disease or an irreversible coma.
Should individuals have the final say WHEN they die, If they are in extreme cases of suffering? In some countries, it’s actually legal…it’s fair to say that indeed it does ‘put them out of their misery’, because by living longer, they’re only going to be suffering more….
But since humans have free will and all, surely an individual is the best judge of his/her actions and is only justifiable to none other, than themselves. This is an act of putting one in control and giving them the final say. it’s a matter of choice. Their life, Their choice.
